Biden adds ideas to Iraq

In the last post, Notebook admonished John Kerry for politicking–mainly for his criticism and not having any fresh idea added to the table. It had nothing to do with the fact that he is a Democrat. In fact, Notebook heard many good ideas from the Democratic Party this week.

One notable comment came from Sen. Joe Biden. How about bringing the Sunni into a small profit from future oil sale, Biden spoke on C-SPAN and again on PBS NewsHour. Biden then invoked his experience dealing with the faction and ethnic conflict in the Balkan and said that conflcit was much more intricate than the current war.

Indeed this is a stick-and-carrot type of diplomacy and could very well help unifying the fractured and fragile Baghdad government.

Throwing a fit over small things

Notebook got a good laugh this morning. Consider this from O’Reilly as he agreed that there were “mistakes” in the Iraq situation,

But to try to damage a sitting president, whose administration has prevented attacks on our soil for five-and-a-half years, is flat out irresponsible. I feel sorry for the good people of Vermont. They’re being held hostage by a bunch of extremists who put ideology over the safety of children and the good of their nation. And no amount of dishonest reporting can cover that up.

Assuming that the majority of those wanting the president impeached to be Democrats and assuming none are from the Republican side. Knowing that in 1993, Bin Laden’s men bombed the World Trade Center. Since ‘93 and until 2000, no further attack on U.S. soil, under Clinton’s watch, why then the Republican impeached and “damage the sitting president?”

Think about that.
